Our Board of Directors is comprised of some of Saudi Arabia's most experienced and prominent leaders.
Member of SABB’s Board and Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors as of June 2019. Ms Olayan holds a BSc from Cornell University, an MBA from Indiana University and an honorary PhD in Law from Trinity College.
In 2004, Ms. Olayan became the first woman to join the board of a Saudi publicly listed company when she was elected to the board of Alawwal Bank and served as its Deputy Chairman. With wide-ranging experience in investments and operating companies, Ms. Olayan served as CEO of Olayan Financing Company for over 35 years, and presently chairs its ExCom, in addition to chairing the board of Olayan Saudi Holding Company.
She has been a member of the Board of Schlumberger since 2011 and a Board member of Ma’aden since 2016. Ms Olayan sits on the international advisory boards of Akbank, Allianz SE, McKinsey & Co and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, she is also a trustee of KAUST, MIT and the Asia Business Council.
Member of SABB Board of Directors since 1996. Presently the Vice Chairman of the Bank’s Board of Directors. He holds a Bachelors of Science degree in Engineering Management and Electrical Engineering from the University of Evansville, Indiana State, USA. He has taken the lead in the privatization of a number of major Saudi companies as well as sitting on the board of directors for King Abdullah Economic City, United Electronics Company (Extra) and Aseer Trading, Tourism and Manufacturing Co., Knowledge Economic City and King Abdullah Port.
Member of SABB Board of Directors since 2009. He holds a Bachelors of Science in Civil Engineering from King Saud University in Riyadh and a Masters of Science in Structural Engineering & Management from the University of South California, USA. In addition to his previous experience in the business and investment sectors, he is a board member of many leading Saudi Companies. Presently he holds several positions including Saudi Orix Leasing Company.
Member of SABB Board of Directors since 2002. He has vast experience in the management and financial fields. He held the membership of several Saudi companies and a number of social committees. Presently, he holds several positions including Chairman of Abdul Qader AL-Muhaideb & Sons Company, Chairman of SAVOLA Group, Middle East Paper Company and Al Oula Real Estate Development Co. and he is Board Member Board Member of Al-Marai Company, and Board Member of National Industrialization Co., ACWA Power International, Rafal Real Estate Development Co. and ACWA Holding.
Member of SABB Board of Directors since April 2014. He holds Bachelors of Science in Accounting and Masters degree in Financial Economics. He has more than 15 years’ experience in investment, banking services, risk monitoring and Governance at a number of financial and regulatory institutions. He presently holds the position of CEO of Hassanah Investment Company.
Board Member and Managing Director of SABB since 2010, representing the foreign partner HSBC Holdings. He holds a Masters degree in Economics from Cambridge University, UK. Mr. Dew has considerable management and financial experience gained during his 40 years career with HSBC in a number of regions and countries.
Member of SABB Board of Directors as of April 2016, representing the foreign partner HSBC Holdings BV. He holds a BSc degree in Finance from L' Institut d'Etudes Politiques in Paris and an MBA in Economics from La Sorbonne University, Paris, France. Mr. Assaf is a Group Managing Director and a member of the Group Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Global Banking and Markets at HSBC Group, with over 20 years of experience in the banking and financial markets field acquired at HSBC Group, where he held several leading roles.
Member of SABB Board of Directors with effect from January 2018; representing the foreign partner HSBC Holdings plc. He is a qualified chartered accountant from the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales and holds an honors degree in Economics and Accountancy from the University of Kent, UK. In addition, Stephen has accumulated wide experience in banking during his 27-year career with HSBC. He is currently the Group Chief of Staff, HSBC Holdings plc.
Member of SABB’s Board as of Jun 2019. She has accumulated experience as an executive in public finance and Government Treasury, infrastructure and logistics, banking and listed companies including as a non-executive director on a number of Boards in previous periods. She has served as CEO of Absa Group Ltd (previously Barclays Africa Group Ltd) and CEO of Transnet Ltd. She presently serves as a Non-Executive Director on a number of Boards. Mrs. Ramos holds honorary doctorates from the Stellenbosch and Free State universities, a Masters Degree in Economics from University of London (SOAS) and a Bachelor's Degree in Commerce and BCom Honors from University of Witwatersrand.
Mr. Al-Aulaqi has an MBA in Finance from the University of Stirling, UK. He has 32 years of investment management, and treasury experience across multiple geographies. His previous roles include including Chief Executive Officer of NCB Capita, President of Safanad and board member of Alawwal Bank. He is the President of Lakemore and a member of the firm’s Board of Directors. He sits on Lakemore’s Investment Committee and is responsible for setting the firm’s business and investment strategy.
Mr Powell has over 40 years’ experience in the Banking sector with a specialism in risk management. He was an Executive with the Royal Bank of Scotland PLC for more than 15 years with his final position before retirement being the Chief Risk Officer for the Capital Resolution Division. He was a Board and Executive Committee Member of Alawwal Bank since June 2017 and holds a ACIB qualification from the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
