Training

SABB has made a significant investment in developing and maintaining a high quality training programs for its staff. During the year 2008, 10,620 individuals attended 47,866 days of internal and external training including external seminars and workshops, with an average of 11 training days per employee per year.

Training is conducted in SABB's dedicated training facilities in the western and eastern Provinces of Saudi Arabia as well as at SABB's headquarters in Riyadh. SABB training is considered to be amongst the best available in the Saudi banking industry. SABB continually reviews its training resources against the current and future needs of the business. Advantage is taken for HSBC Group's training resources both in the UK and UAE.

SABB has invested significant time and resources in brining new and existing employees up to the highest standard in all areas of SABB's business and this process is ongoing. Particular attention has been given to credit and corporate, customer management training and service and cross-selling techniques. In addition, many accreditation programmes (such as MBO/OBO, MBG and AlAmanah accreditation) were introduced in 2007, and have continued in 2008 with value being added from the development and roll-out of specific follow-up Sales and Service programes.
